Tasting notes
From the Vosne producer also known as Dom Bizot almost next to Dom Gérard Mugneret. In theory this was for too young to drink and indeed there was the merest hint of the top quality oak used in the cellar but it was a truly gorgeous drink that our host, a massive Bizot fan, could not help pulling the cork on. Quite fleshy but with energy too. Very promising. (JR)

(from vines situated in En Orveaux planted in 1923, 1947, 1964 and 1979 totaling .56 ha). The wood treatment is somewhat more evident though not so much as to materially impede the appreciation of the ultra-spicy, ripe yet cool floral, spice and liqueur-like aromas. Once again I very much like the mouth feel of the more structured and more mineral-inflected medium weight plus flavors that possess strikingly good density, all wrapped in a serious and impressively long if youthfully austere finale. This outstanding effort will definitely require at least some patience. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
