Deep and opulent red with dark berry character and notes of walnut, vanilla, ground cloves and cigar box. Full-bodied, wide and encompassing on the palate with very fine, chiselled tannins. Layered and deep with a long finish. Try after 2026.

The 2019 Ampio delle Mortelle is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 25% Carménère. It marries textural intensity and vibrancy beautifully. Super-ripe red cherry, rose petal, pomegranate and spice race across the palate. Ripeness is pushed to the edge, but there's just enough freshness to keep things in check. This is nicely done.
