Score 96/100 · Drink 2030-2075, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Jan 2025

The 2022 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese (Auction) is clear and discreet yet also intense on the bright and floral/herbal, still reductive nose. Lush and generous on the palate, this is an elegant and refined, well balanced and savory wine with dense, slightly caramelized fruit and a dense, finely saline and crystalline, highly stimulating finish. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 22 23 in January 2025.

AP number 11 23. Power and intensity! Which German-wine lover would pass up the opportunity to buy this? Go for it! Limpid mountain-stream stuff. (JR)
