The 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru is 50% whole bunches (pédicelles) and one-third new oak. It has a strong, backward and what you might call "transparent" bouquet that develops a slight floral note. The palate is medium-bodied with mineral-driven red fruit, crushed stone and Earl Grey, finely proportioned with admirable length on the finish. Very fine.

Aromas of plums, red berries, orange rind and rose petals preface the 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine with supple, melting tannins and a giving, open-knit profile. As I wrote last year, it's once again a creditable effort, given its suboptimal location.
