Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2022-2028, Jancis Robinson MW, Mar 2021
50-year-old vines on limestone and clay. All destemmed. Aged for 10 months in oak barrels (25–30% new). Evolved-looking pale garnet. Interesting undergrowth sort of nose. Particularly well-managed, really quite fine tannins and lots of sweet fruit. Depth to this wine. No hint of Chalonnaise rusticity. Good stuff and pretty rich with a fine chalky finish after the sweet start. (JR)
