Tasting notes
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs wafts from the glass with aromas of red plums, cherries, cassis and sweet spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy but youthfully structured palate that's framed by sweet, powdery tannins.

Outstanding. There is a plethora of floral elements to be found on the fresh and distinctly cool nose of the essence of red berries and forest floor. There is better volume and density to the medium weight flavors that also exude evident minerality on the firm, and firmly austere, finale. This is very good for its level but not a wine that is likely to make for attractive early drinking.
No more than 30 hl/ha after the passage of the hail storm, which also meant that Arnaud had to make careful choices, not necessarily his usual ones, in selecting grapes for whole bunch vinification, just 25-30% overall, with 25% new wood. Mid purple with an elegant bouquet more raspberry than strawberry. Definitely something of a savoury character behind, but the fruit continues all around the palate.
About the producer

This estate, today with Arnaud Mortet at the helm, makes some of Gevrey-Chambertin’s finest wines. Working with 16 hectares, as well as a few négociant parcels, this property makes perfumed and chiselled Pinot Noir.
