Tasting notes
Drink 0-0, David Schildknecht, Vinous, Jan 2005

(for 375 ml.) In the nose and on the palate, this is the essence of the sweet florality of Rauenthal's steep and stony slopes. Almost syrupy in its combination of sweetness and viscosity, and yet there is that sense of weightlessness one gets from many of the best 2003s. Like an infusion of lemon and flowers. Glides effortlessly and delicately yet almost endlessly. One really wants to see this develop further complexity as the sugars polymerize. This year's Berg Schlossberg TBA struck me as simply too inscrutably sweet and embryonic at this stage to permit a detailed note. Potential 2 stars.
