The 2017 Echo de Lynch Bages is soft, open-knit and easygoing. A rush of sweet red cherry and red plum fruit gives the 2017 its open-knit, distinctive personality. Perhaps it is a bit less expressive than it can be in top vintages, but the balance here is impeccable. Pretty floral and spice notes add an attractive element of suaveness to this lush, supple wine.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Echo de Lynch Bages has a rather earthy nose of truffles and damp soil over a core of baked plums, boysenberries and warm cassis. Medium-bodied, the palate features a chewy backbone and just enough black fruits, with an earthy finish.

The 2017 Echo de Lynch Bages is matured in one-year old barrels for 12 months. It has a light, pencil box and tobacco scented bouquet that just needs more fruit intensity. The palate has a pleasant rounded entry, a little soft in the middle with moderate acidity and an agreeable if not memorable tobacco finish. Drink over the next 4 to 6 years.

The 2017 Echo De Lynch-Bages offers a juicy, yet classic Cabernet Sauvignon bouquet of creme de cassis, graphite, spring flowers, sappy herbs, and hints of cedary and earth. Medium-bodied, elegant, beautifully balanced, and with fine tannins, it's ideal for drinking over the coming 10-15 years.
