Tasting notes
Aromas of red berries, plums, raw cocoa, potpourri and orange rind preface the 2020 Pommard 1er Cru Les Pezerolles, a medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless wine that's deep and complete, with lively acids and ripe, velvety tannins, concluding with a long and expansive finish.

A very cool vineyard, but the vines were old and exhausted and yields had become very low so they grubbed it up in 2021. Cask sample. Palish raspberry hue. Sweet and juicy with fine acidity. Firm structure on the finish and a lightly ferrous streak. (MH)
The 2020 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru offers a mélange of red and blueberry fruit, well defined, nicely focused with a pastille-like purity. The palate is medium-bodied with velvety tannins, very succulent, the acidity counterbalancing the richness here, almost Volnay like sumptuousness on the finish. Readers should note that these vines were pulled up in 2021 after the frost etc, so this is the final vintage for a while.
