Tasting notes
From a long warm season, with the rains arriving only after harvest in November. Lustrous and just mid ruby with orange tinges. Round, deep and perfumed with stony notes and a hint of cinder. Hints of cigar box but little if any tertiary aromas. Supple and elegant and perhaps a little less complex than the 2013, but with a fantastic fluid and racy finish chock-full with fine tannins. Plenty of future. (WS)

Passopisciaro. Youthful and just mid ruby. Tight oatmeal nose with a hint of minerals. Still a little closed, and with a beautiful balance between fruit, freshness and powdery tannins. Minerally again on the finish. Truly wonderful and tense. (WS)
