Drink 0-0, Neal Martin, Jan 2022
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru has quite a modern, minty bouquet, higher-toned than its peers, displaying touches of blood orange and marmalade. It becomes a little oxidized with aeration. The medium-bodied, fleshy palate delivers sappy red berry fruit and fine acidity, yet this does oxidize with aeration. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

Northern side of Nuits, next to Malconsorts. One-quarter new oak and 30% whole bunch. Barrel sample. Darker-fruited than the Aux Thorey and a little sweeter. Pure and gently spiced. Sweet spice balanced by the freshness of stems. A hint of toasty oak. Rather light and finely textured. Still has good length. (JH)
