Beetroot, game, rich black fruit. The tannins seem perhaps to be a little sticky considering the bottle age, with the primary fruit having dried out leaving quite a formidable structure. Still plenty of flavour concentration, but I wouldn’t want this to get any less fruity. (RH)

Dark crimson. Strongly herbally scented. Almost eucalyptus-like. But with masses of flesh. Clean and fresh on the finish. One of the more intense vintages. Great balance and drive. (JR)

NB older vintage. Cabernet has taken over! Bit of rusty nails but also luscious evolution. Southern and interesting and distinctive. Bit hot on the end – citronella. (JR)
