Tasting notes
The 2008 Pinot Noir Laurene is pale to medium ruby-garnet with a spicy nose of smoked meats, cracked peppercorn and dried tobacco leaves with hints of pencil shavings and granite. Light to medium-bodied, it still offers plenty of red fruits in the mouth—cherry, cranberry, rhubarb—with very firm tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long.

Delicate with more than a hint of sweetness but nothing in excess. Hint of coffee. Very dry finish. (JR)
Svelte mouthfeel but the tannins have a grainy hold on the finish. High acid, bright and juicy fruit. Lovely, but not so wowing as it can be. (RH)
Mid crimson. Opulent sweetness. Lots of richness and sweetness. Drying tannins plus acidity on the finish. Sinewy finish. Very youthful but very ambitious. (JR)
