Slightly stubborn on the nose, with smoky blackberry fruit and a little bacon fat with some reduction. The palate is sweet, ripe with damson fruit, layered against woody herbs. Succulent and muscular, perhaps a little too rich at the moment though I expect it will get there. (TP)

100% Syrah. Cask sample. Peppery, vegetal, spicy, black leather, liquorice. Fine tannins, moderate length. Very open, herby nose but the palate is way more fruit-driven, albeit with a savoury finish. (RH)
