The 2018 Pommard Les Chaponnières 1er Cru, a vineyard in which Anne Parent is now doing some massal selection, has a crisp, backward and quite broody bouquet that needs some encouragement from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and much tighter than the other Premier Crus. A lovely spicy finish lingers in the mouth. Excellent, but a cerebral Pommard from Anne Parent.
