2011 Preludio

Tinto Fino. Sample wine. This is the personal project of Javier Zaccagnini former president of Consejo Regulador of Ribera del Duero and partner of Mariano García in Bodegas Aalto. This is the first vintage of a very personal garage wine project, made from very old vines of Tinto Fino (60-90 years old) with an ageing of 18 months in top-quality French oak. Very concentrated style, medium body, tannins are clay textured but still need to be mellowed further. Black fruits, cacao, coffee and cedar notes. It is elegant although still needs time to develop its potential. I would love to taste it in two years. (FC)
