100% new oak. Barrel sample. Extremely toasty and just a little reductive on the nose. Dark and charry. Charry and sweet on the palate. The up-front oak is making this harder to taste at the moment though there is clearly lovely fruit underneath that smoky and charry exterior. The tannins are so supple but still have a dry finesse. Needs longer for the oak to recede. And seems to be going through a reductive phase. (JH)
