Tasting notes
The 1992 second wine of the microscopic estate of Lafleur is dark ruby-colored, with a sweet nose of black-cherries, minerals, and earth. Although the wine is tannic, it exhibits sweet, jammy fruit beneath its structure and toughness. After it sheds some tannin, it should be a good example of this vintage. I find it remarkable as well as admirable that an estate with a production of only 1,500 cases is willing to declassify 500 cases into its second wine to ensure that Lafleur is exceptional. Now that is a commitment to excellence!
