Poured from magnum. Lustrous and just mid ruby. Real concentration of balsamic cherry fruit with earthy, minerally hints and just a suggestion of oak. Succulent, elegant fruit with elegant coating tannins. Long and suave. (WS)

The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneti del Versante captivates with a delicate bouquet of plums and strawberries complemented by rosy florals. It's soft and round, with a hint of balsamic spice giving way to red currants and a dusting of violet candies. This finishes with excellent length and mineral notes, leaving a saline tinge and inner florals to resonate over a bed of grippy tannins that add a pleasantly chewy sensation. The 2015 continues to show a giving and supple nature in a truly hamonious package. Pure beauty.

The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneti del Versante opens with a captivating bouquet, delicate yet pleasantly sweet, showing ripe cherries and wild berries complemented by a dusting of cinnamon. This is soft and fleshy, with a hint of balsamic spice giving way to red currants and hints of violet candies. Round tannins linger, mingling with residual acids and inner florals to create a truly harmonious finale. It’s not as long-lived as the bigger vintage 2016 will be, but this is an absolutely glorious expression of Vigneti del Versante. Tasted twice with consistent results.

The 2015 Vigneti del Versante Brunello is luxurious and polished on the nose with ripe plum, lavender floral, vanilla bean, and cedar. The palate is seamless, with velvety tannins that wrap around a fresh core of black cherry fruit, baking spice, and mineral-rich earth. Though there is a present oak influence, it is well-integrated without masking the purity of the fruit, while also lifting off the palate with ease in a super-long finish. This is accessible now but will be well worth the wait to cellar 3-5 years and drink 2025-2042.
