Tasting notes
The 2021 Nierstein Hipping GG offers a clear, pure, intense, beautifully wild, spicy and stony bouquet of fresh yellow fruits. Savory and grippy on the palate, this is a spicy, elegant and finely grippy Hipping with a salty, tensioned, well-concentrated and stimulatingly crunchy finish. Still young but very promising.12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in October 2022.

Strongly and deliciously fumy nose of spontaneously fermented Riesling. Smoky and savoury but still lots of fruit. All that lovely smokiness on the palate too. Long, intense but dancing on the finish. (JH)
Super-smoky and flinty, but also with a ton of fresh-pineapple and ripe yellow-grapefruit aromas behind that, this is very concentrated and succulent, but also enormously mineral. A Nierstein dry riesling masterpiece. Stunningly compact and vibrant at the super-long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
Wild, mineral depths, zesty citrus aromas. An elegant, juicy orange layer lends a playful, bewitching element to the supple palate. Less distant than the Rothenberg, Hipping invites one along for a rocky adventure. Racy acidity and long, saline finish. Not for the faint of heart. (PS)
