Tasting notes
Once again there is noticeable wood framing the spicy red and dark currant scents where more aromatic breadth is present in the form of Asian-style tea and lavender wisps. There is a lovely sense of energy to the focused middle weight flavors that possess even better depth and persistence on the balanced finale. While this is certainly pretty and has enough stuffing to reward mid-term cellaring, it is not nearly as dense and powerful as it usually is.

The 2017 Echézeaux du Dessus Grand Cru offers up a lavish bouquet of sweet cherries, raspberries, dried flowers, spices and smoky new oak, followed by a full-bodied, ample and expansive palate that's rich and fleshy, with a broad attack, good concentration at the core and succulent balancing acids, concluding with a nicely defined finish.
