2021 Marsannay Les Longeroies

Tasting notes
This is the most savoury of the three 2021s from Marsannay tasted – with a little olive, something vegetable and Mediterranean herbs alongside the fruit. It’s lovely and open on the palate, with beautiful freshness and the vitality of red fruit with pink peppercorns adding intrigue. The acidity is a little lower here versus the Clos du Roi, and the tannins absolutely seamless. Really beautiful and open, it offers another sweet and silky finish.

Cask sample. Very pale garnet. Real attack and excitement. Not simple sweetness but certainly neither tart or heavy. Just good northern Nuits with attack. For those who care more about quality than appellation. (JR)
