FINE+RARE, Nov 2022
A blend of fruit from Chaumées, Caillerets and Maltroie, Au Pied du Mont Chauve made a mere 500 bottles in total from the three plots. This leaps out of the glass – with a welcome assault of super-ripe juicy peach, tinned apricots and succulent pair. But there’s a pithy backbone to the wine beyond this round fruit profile, with good acidity to balance the weight and richness. The finish is saline with a mouth-watering pithy edge.
About the producer

Au Pied du Mont Chauve
Au Pied du Mont Chauve is one of the Picard family's labels. The estate produces brilliant-value Burgundy and is one of few producers able to hold back wine for later release.
