FINE+RARE, Nov 2022
The nose of this Grand Cru offers amazing floral aromatics, with sweet red cherry and crunchier redcurrant bite – but this open and dainty perfume plays against a more closed, linear palate. Elegant yet restrained, the palate verges on strict – with a tight core and firmer, corduroy-esque tannins that create a framework for the crunchy fruit. Waves of violet notes echo on the long finish. Aged in 40% new oak, the barrels used for this see a longer, gentler toast than those for the Clos Saint-Denis
