FINE+RARE, Oct 2022

Distilled in 2006 and aged over eight years in cask, this single malt was then transferred to a Tawny Port cask where it slumbered for a further seven years. The resulting bottling has lovely rich vanilla and toffee aromas alongside fresher sandalwood tones. There is a distinct fruity character to the palate, with lightly Porty, rancio tones and dried black fruit flavours. It is very smooth on the palate, medium in body, finishing with sweet-toned vanilla. It has a charming richness, while also feeling bright.

Tomatin

Founded in 1897, Highland distillery Tomatin has swelled and shrunk during subsequent whisky booms and busts. Its approachable, light, unpeated style was so popular in blends that Tomatin became the largest malt distillery in Scotland.
