Tasting notes
The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe exhibits notes of cassis, cherries, sweet berries, warm spices and creamy new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, richly layered and concentrated palate that's vibrant and complete. Deep and seamless, it concludes with a long, penetrating finish. It's showing especially well this year.

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe Village felt quite reduced on the nose which was difficult to read. That will sort itself out with bottle age. The palate is very smooth with pastille-like purity, velvety red berry fruit with touches of dried orange peel towards what is quite a structured finish. Fine, but be patient.
