Lamy's 2013 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard is still a decidedly youthful wine, unwinding in the glass with notes of lemon oil, beeswax, crisp yellow orchard fruit, drawn butter and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, deep and incisive, it's tightly wound and searingly intense, with a racy spine of acidity and a long, chalky finish. This is one of the least evolved and most electric of all Olivier's 2013s at the moment.
Bright crimson. Racy and smooth but not that concentrated. And rather severe on the end for now. (JR)
Hint of struck match. Lots to juice and freshness. Very lively and very well done. Nothing in excess. Still youthful. GV (JR)
