FINE+RARE

This Cognac was made in 1882, before phylloxera ravaged the region’s vineyards. The spirit spent more than 70 years slumbering in the highest quality oak at the Debeau family’s five-hectare estate before it was filled into glass demijohns – where it has been lying ever since. The nose is a joy; moving from burnt toffee and roasted chestnuts, to macadamia, nutmeg and cloves. With another swirl, classic aged notes emerge, with candied orange, dried orange and roasted lemon, followed by hints of straw, clove oil and a little incense. The palate sees richer flavours with more roasted chestnuts, demerara, cinder toffee, then foie gras, cinnamon, allspice and cloves, leading to a deep prune and rancio finish. The balance and finesse here are both superb. This price includes three 70cl bottles of Cognac, plus the engraving of each bottle and box. We will contact you to arrange engraving after purchase. We will require a suitable, high-resolution design, in AI or EPS format. Only one design can be used across each three-bottle case. Existing designs must be supplied; if designs are to be created, this will incur additional costs. If designs are not received in sufficient time, deliveries may be delayed.
