The 2015 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese Long Gold Capsule (AP 26) offers a clear, fine and concentrated Riesling bouquet with fine raisin flavors and a hint of white champignons. Round, rich and sweet, this is a lush and charming Auslese whose sweetness is the most prominent one in all of the 2015 bottlings I have tasted thus far. At this early stage, it lacks the tension and vibrating freshness of the other 2015s that are all so highly digestible. This LGK, however, is made for a long bottle aging. Although, I am not sure it will ever become a palate dancer. It was bottled with 134 grams of residual sugar and 8% alcohol.
