Tasting notes
This 1999 single-cask bottling is truly rare. After tasting countless samples, our team selected this remarkable 22-year-old single malt, matured in an ex-Oloroso Sherry hogshead, to bottle at cask strength. The resulting liquid is a sumptuous dram. The single cask expression opens with an enormous fruit-forward nose, backed up with sweet spice and a delicious nuttiness. The palate continues the opulent theme – yet never compromises on elegance. Brandy butter and nutmeg shine through, and there’s a delicacy to the texture as the fruits turn drier. The generous finish lingers with fig, date and marzipan notes, enveloped in a wonderful softness. A pleasing whisky that never overpowers. Only 134 bottles are available.
About the producer

Founded in 1897, Highland distillery Tomatin has swelled and shrunk during subsequent whisky booms and busts. Its approachable, light, unpeated style was so popular in blends that Tomatin became the largest malt distillery in Scotland.
