Tasting notes
As is typical of Domaine de Jouanda’s excellent Armagnacs, this is remarkably vibrant and fruit-forward, despite nearly four decades in barrel. The nose is distinctive and powerful, with rich aromas of dried fruit (prunes, pears and fig) with sweet vanilla and an almost lychee-like note. On the palate, it evolves deliciously – richly warming with sweet Sherry-soaked raisins and Christmas cake developing into butterscotch and crème brûlée notes. The finish is long and smooth with the scent of ginger spice.
About the producer

Domaine de Jouanda is one of the best Bas-Armagnac producers, and one of the few Armagnac producers that remains family owned. The Poyferré family (who once also owned Saint-Julien estate Ch. Léoville Poyferré) has a history in the region stretching back five centuries.
