Tasting notes
Marchesi di Barolo is widely regarded as one of the founders of the Barolo category. Like many of the region’s oldest producers, it has long produced aromatised fortified Barolo Chinato alongside its dry reds. The time in bottle has softened the aromatic flavours of rhubarb, gentian root and cardamom seeds, which are just some of the botanicals in the special recipe. We estimate this bottle is from the late 1970s or early 1980s. Please get in touch if you would like additional photographs to assess its condition.
