Tasting notes
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Château Langoa Barton, we put together a 12-bottle vertical, spanning every vintage from 2005 to 2016, sourced directly from the château. Langoa has always been a fantastically consistent and well-priced Grand Cru Classé, particularly considering the pedigree of winemaking and its cooler site. The estate’s north-facing, cooler, clay-rich, gravel soils have benefitted from the warming climate – adding more depth, complexity and roundness to the wine. The run of vintages in this special case, 2005 to 2016, are arguably the finest in the property’s long history. Exclusive to FINE+RARE, just 60 cases were produced. Each one is individually numbered.
About the producer

Hugh Barton purchased this estate, alongside Second Growth Ch. Léoville Barton, in the 1820s. Classified as a Third Growth and run by Lilian Barton with her children Damien and Mélanie today, the 20 hectares of vines produce some of the appellation’s most elegant wines – and at reasonable prices.
