Richer and more complex on the nose compared with the citrus purity of the Dönnhoff Felsenberg just tasted. Peaches and green fruits but also a mineral, smoky side that might be that fumy aroma I associate with spontaneous fermentation – subtle and inviting. Terrific power on the palate, sour apricot, greengage and ripe lemons and a touch of orange. So much fruit but not simple. Deep, long, mouth-watering. (JH)

AP number 17 20. Light nose. I wonder whether the grapes should have been allowed to ripen a little further? A bit tart and ungenerous. (JR)
The 2019 Kirchspiel Riesling GG is pure, fresh and spicy as well as coolish on the still yeasty but substantial and complex nose. Lush yet precise and refined on the elegant palate, this is a highly tensioned, grippy and chalky dry Riesling with great finesse, sustainable grip, intensity and stimulating salinity. A great Kirchspiel! Tasted as a sample in April 2020.
