Tasting notes
AP number 01 23. Water white. So pure! So delicate! So unique! Lovely compelling delicate fruit on the front palate. No sign of the obvious sulphur that used to characterise young J J Prüm wines. You could drink this now but I know from experience just how long they last … GV (JR)

Subdued – perhaps a little tainted? Hard to tell but the lack of fruit definition and the very faint mustiness does not bode so well. (RH)
The 2019 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett combines fruit ripeness and intensity with spicy/flinty slate aromas and elegance. Lush and round on the palate, this is an intense and piquant, vibrantly fresh and salty Kabinett with quite a lot of sweetness but also generous fruit and a certain richness. It's obviously a Spätlese rather than an authentic Kabinett. Stimulatingly, fine and salty on the aftertaste. A wine to keep. 9% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted from AP 6 20 in November 2021.
Still some yeastiness from the wild ferment, but this opens beautifully with aeration. A entire botanic garden of flowers of all colors and origins. Concentrated, yet so filigree and delicate, the finish super long and as refreshing as an Alpine stream. Perfect balance in this delightful no-man’s land between dry and sweet. Drink or hold.
