Tasting notes
Ripe, almost non-burgundian fruit intensity. And such subtle tannins! This has all the power and slinkiness of great Pinots from Sonoma or Otago, and the corresponding weight. With time, it will surely show its true origins more clearly, but right now, this is defined by its youth. (RH)

The 2019 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru contains 50% whole bunch, matured in around 60–80% new oak. It has a well-defined bouquet of truffle-tinged black fruit, touches of blue fruit emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a vibrant opening; good attack here, with edgy black cherry and boysenberry fruit, the concentration deriving from the very low yields of 25hl/ha. Quite persistent on the finish. This deserves several years in bottle
