Stand back, while this express train arrives! The concentration of a TBA, but with the brilliance of a great Auslese. None of the dried-fruit character of TBA and only a whisker of floral honey. Incredibly fresh acidity at the super-succulent finish. Limited production from a vineyard with single-pole (Roman) training system. From organically grown grapes with Fair\'n Green certification. Drink or hold.
Labeled with a historian motive, the 2019 Riesling Auslese Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Einzelpfahl (Auction) offers a deep, intense, refined and flinty bouquet. Concentrated, sweet and piquant on the palate, with a firm mineral backbone and high digestibility, this is a very persistent and structured Auslese whose sweetness is palatable but lifted by the mineral fundament and the fascinating 2019 acidity. The finish is the most spectacular here since it clearly indicates the best is yet to come. Tasted from AP #19 in May 2020.
AP number 17 20. Not much nose again (as for the Brücke Goldkapsel Auslese 2019). Almost painful acidity. This is a baby. But quite a triumph. The most youthful 2019 I have tasted so far. Rich yet flying and singing. Or do I mean dancing? All the ingredients are there. Just don't touch it for ages. (JR)
