FINE+RARE
Giovanni Conterno is lauded as one of the greatest Barolo producers. While the estate is best known for its Cascina Francia and Monfortino Crus, the estate has also long produced the region’s aromatised fortified wines. The “Vecchio ’800” name of this bottling is thought to reference the 19th century origins of the style. We estimate this bottle is from the 1970s. Please get in touch if you would like additional photographs to assess its condition.
About the producer

Giacomo Conterno
Giacomo Conterno is arguably Barolo’s most celebrated estate. While most famous for its Monfortino Riserva, the quality found in every bottling of Nebbiolo and Barbera at this address makes them a benchmark producer for both varieties.
