FINE+RARE, Jul 2020

Porquerolles Côtes de Provence Rosé from Domaine de l’Ile is a fantastically delicious rosé, from the Côte d’Azur’s idyllic Porquerolles island, exclusive to F+R in the UK. Recently acquired by CHANEL, owners of Château Rauzan-Ségla and Château Canon in Bordeaux, Domaine de l'Ile has invested in a stellar team, and under the guidance of renowned winemaker Nicolas Audebert it is no surprise that they have produced such an exceptional rosé. Since we released it for the first time this spring, this Côtes de Provence proved an instant hit. Staff and clients alike snapped it up and we are now down to our last cases in the UK, so this may be the last opportunity to try it this summer. Potent perfumed aromas of dried rose petal, thyme, marjoram, candied red cherry and a waft of sea salt. The palate has a delightful texture, wonderfully smooth, silky tannins and very even set on the palate with a lovely composed, mid palate weight. Lovely fruit purity too with red cherry and strawberry fruits with a real fresh zing of salinity on the finish, which really makes the mouth water. The purity of the fruit provides an impressive length. Incredibly drinkable already, this is both fine, elegant and no doubt crowd-pleasing.
