Tasting notes
10% new oak. 350-litre barrels. More sunny than Corton-Charlemagne, facing more directly south. Plateau at around 300 m (980 ft). Picked before the village vines and earlier than Charlemagne. Tank sample. Scented with stony citrus but also a touch of blossom, spiced and open on the nose but still with a mineral cast. A hint of ginger – a vintage effect? (Colin-Morey says he has noticed it too.) That ginger on the palate too and with delicacy and persistence combined on the finish. Direct and refined with all that lovely spice. Juicy and so fresh. Utterly mouth-watering. (JH)
