100% Gringet. From the limestone scree soils of the Vers Etraz vineyard – now used for Domaine du Gringet’s (non-sparkling) Etraz bottling. Aged on the lees for 36 months. Expressive nose with roasted hazelnuts and sourdough starter to the fore, though a vibrant citrus core pierces the autolytic character, alongside a flinty edge. Attention-grabbing depth of citrus fruit, elderflower cordial and nuttiness on the bracingly fresh palate. Silky bubbles. Mineral, saline imprint adds to the thirst-slaking palate. Nuts, fines herbes and lemony biscuits on the persistent finish. A singular sparkling wine. (OC)
