Tasting notes
Castello di Ama is a producer at the very top of their game, setting the benchmark for top Chianti – and Tuscany. This Collection Case comprises their three flagship wines: the limited-production Bellavista and La Casuccia single-vineyard cuvées and their iconic Super Tuscan L’Apparita from 2011. The 2011 vintage was powerful, producing sensational wines – especially in the high-altitude vineyards at Castello di Ama. Antonio Galloni described the 2011 L’Apparita as “a rich, ample Merlot” (95 points), while Suckling noted that it could be the “greatest L’Apparita ever” (98 points). Galloni suggests the 2011 Bellavista is “a wine of gravitas” that “will reward several decades of cellaring” (95+ points), while La Casuccia is “wonderfully fleshy and radiant” and “effortless” (96 points). This six-bottle case contains two bottles (75cl) of each wine, these cases have been compiled exclusively for FINE+RARE by the estate.
About the producer

Castello di Ama is one of the pre-eminent estates in Chianti Classico. Situated in the southern-most district of the appellation, the estate has only been making wine since the late 1970s but has since built a reputation as one of the region’s best.
