Score 93/100 · Drink 2017-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2016

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueprint is intense and dark, but also offers terrific freshness. Dark red stone fruit, chocolate, spice, menthol and rose petals are all pushed forward. The 2014 could use a few years to soften, but it is absolutely delicious today. This is a fabulous wine for the money.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueprint hails from six separate sources in Napa Valley and is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. The wine has an opaque purple color and notes of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit as well as touches of white chocolate, underbrush and licorice. It is medium to full-bodied, with terrific purity and a supple, fruit-forward, luscious style that is characteristic of this endearing vintage. Anticipated maturity: now-2032.
