Tasting notes
Based on single berries that were not yet fully dried, the 2015 (Saarburg) Rausch Riesling Auslese Gold Capsule is very clear, fresh and concentrated on the nose, with intense and very clear citrus flavors. On the palate, this is a very clear, finessed and concentrated Auslese. It shows a lush and concentrated, but not terribly sweet fruit, as a result of the remarkably high yet delicate 9.9 grams per liter of acidity. (375-milliliter bottles)

Very pale. Pungent fermented-honey quality on the nose. Gorgeous and flattering. So fresh and racy. Border of TBA! (JR)
Harvested at over 140deg Oechsle, this offers a gorgeous BA-styled nose of date, pineapple, whipped cream and herbs. The wine is stunningly well balanced on the palate and leaves a plain incredibly elegant and racy feel in the long finish. The acidity is beautifully well integrated and the aftertaste is a kaleidoscope of flavors of dried fruits and minerals. What a stunner of a wine! Jun 2016, www.moselfinewines.com, Drink: 2025-2045
Single-berry selection. 30% botrytis, 70% 'pure air-shrivelled' berries. No berries with juice in… Very intense. Very rich and round - super-honeyed. Masses of acidity. Easily a BA. Apr 2016, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2025-2048
