40-year-old vines. 40% new oak. Destemmed. Light to mid ruby. Lifted aroma of both lively red fruit and oak spice, very aromatic. Scented on the palate too, but again there is something slightly sour on the palate that gives freshness but clashes and is slightly intrusive on the finish. Maybe there’s a little too much new oak for the depth of fruit? (JH)
