Tasting notes
Pale ruby with a very pale rim. Earthy, complex nose. Relatively light body, some sweetness but a little lacking grunt. Firm but without a great whack of fruit on the palate. (JR)

Medium depth, cherry red with pale ruby rim. The nose of the Centgrafenberg ‘R’ could have been sculpted by Michelangelo himself, so finely chiseled are its olfactory features. Whether it be fruits of the forest, meadow herbs, cedar spice, a hint of chocolate or a whiff of expensive cigar, all aromas are assembled in a subtle, exquisite and beguiling fragrance. To me, the Centgrafenberg, on the palate as on the nose, is all about perfect proportions, never individual components. Obviously the various constituents need time to merge, but at its peak this will be the epitome of fine and elegant Spätburgunder. (MS)
