1997 Maximin Grunhauser Herrenberg Auslese 89

Peach, pineapple, candied lemon and honey aromas. Rich palate, with mocha and vanilla cream contrasting with citrus, fresh peach and tropical fruit flavors. Still plenty of acidity, but less obviously insistent than in the regular Herrenberg Auslese. Here the creaminess ultimately wins out and the texture is unusually smooth and polished. Wonderful sense of thickness right through the finish.
