Champs Claude. Vines aged 100+ years. No new oak. 50% whole bunch – a third of the bunches had the stems cut off by hand. Racked a month ago and will be bottled at the same time as the St-Aubin. Tank sample. Very pale crimson. A little soupy on the nose. Then quite sharp acid. Very fresh and brisk but without the huge distinction of his whites. Still quite chewy. Rather severe. (JR)
