FINE+RARE, Jan 2018

This is one of the very first times this special cuvee has been made and the vineyard is nestled right next to Chambolle’s two most iconic terroirs: Le Musigny and Les Amoureuses. Vineyards are very rarely better positioned. Safe to say it did not disappoint – this is a true insider’s bargain of Burgundy. 2 barrels produced, one of few vintages this exceptionally well located 1er Cru has been produced by Jadot. Glossy and glass coating. Highly perfumed nose with vibrant aromas of plum and cassis, layered with dried violets and nuances of sweet spice. Rich, but supremely elegant, complex and beautifully fresh. The palate brims with intense, concentrated red cherry and fleshy dark plummy, blueberry fruit, full bodied yet delicate with a subtle underlying minerality which carries through to the long, refined finish. Spicy, silky finish. Very beautiful indeed.
