2013 Fluus

54% Grenache,31% Mataro (Mourvèdre), 10% Cinsault, 5% Syrah from local growers. Stainless steel fermented with ambient yeast and then aged in old French oak puncheons. Dark garnet. Light nose with something a bit farmyardy about it for my taste. The fruit is certainly fresh and this is light years from over-reliace on oak but I find the horsiness just a little too much. Rather sudden finish. Sour elderberry impression. A little astringent on the finish. (JR)
